Mamma Mia! What a Reward!
Today was an extremely exciting day as our recent geography competition winners were treated to a wonderful sightseeing trip around our city. In return for writing some sensational poetry based on Sunderland’s landmarks, we were chauffeured to some of the places included in the winning entries.
The Stadium of Light area was filled with interest and not only did we view the magnificent stadium, we also explored the Aquatic Centre, the River Wear and some of the artefacts designed to commemorate Monkwearmouth Colliery.
From there we headed to the Italian Kitchen for a slap-up meal! The children were a credit to our school and really enjoyed their food – some children made their own pizza and even handed it to the chef. A fantastic time was had by all and we can’t wait to reward our next set of winners as and when a competition is set. As always, stay tuned.
