Remembrance Day Poppies
For the last four years, Mrs Summers has been taking her English class to Sycamore Lodge Nursing Home and her new English class have recently made their first visit.
The residents are currently making poppies as part of their Remembrance Day events and the children enjoyed helping them paint several poppies to add to their display.
The children surprised the residents by dressing up in the costumes they wore on their recent visit to Beamish. The children showed their new friends photographs of their day and shared their experience of being taught in a Victorian classroom. The residents really enjoyed listening to the children’s tales and sharing memories of their own school days with them.
