Black History Writing Competition

We have been overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of the entries to our Black History Month Writing Competition; we would like to say a huge well done to all those who took part.

Mrs Walker was left with a very difficult decision in deciding upon a winner. The children’s writing demonstrated such fantastic research and excellence in presentation and we were bowled over by the people who they chose to write about.  Subjects ranged from Michael Jackson and Barack Obama to Rosa Parks and Harriet Tubman. We have all certainly learned a lot about how just one person can influence and change a whole generation. Winners received a copy of the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book by Jeff Kinney ‘The Getaway’.

Keep an eye out for our next competition.
