A Royal Rendezvous!
On Wednesday 21st February 2018, Lexi and Mrs Johnson had the privilege of being invited to the official opening of The Fire Station, Sunderland’s newest music and arts hub, following Lexi’s success in the Little Inventors challenge.
Lexi’s amazing invention – a ‘light-up see-through slide with fish’ – was actually made into a real object and has been on display at an exhibition in Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens.
An extra special treat for Lexi, was meeting Their Royal Highnesses - The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who officially opened the venue. Prince William and Kate were formally introduced to Lexi and asked her questions about her design. Prince William even said it was “awesome”!
The whole day was truly one that will be remembered forever. What a special event to be part of.
