World Book Day and Book Fair
World Book Day Thursday 7th March 2019
We are celebrating World Book Day (Thursday 7th March) within school. As part of World Book Day every primary school aged children will receive a book token. These are redeemable in all major bookstores. The children can exchange their token for a special World Book Day book. Just look out for the special stickers.
Book Fair
Your child will receive their special book token from school, please put it to good use! School will be holding a book fair for your children to buy some exciting new books from Monday 11th March 2019 to Friday 15th March 2018. Please spend a few minutes looking through the book fair leaflet, you will be sure to find many books that are suited to your child. Book fair will be open from 8.30 am to 8.40 am each morning with the exception of Monday and 3.00pm to 3.30pm each afternoon. If you are unable to attend please complete the order form inside the leaflet.
I am sure you will agree that reading is of great importance and we appreciate your support. In return for your book purchases, school will receive free books for your children to use. Every book you buy earns commission for your school. We look forward to seeing you there. Don’t forget you can use your special World Book Day Token to redeem £1 off any book at our Book Fair.
Dress as your favourite character.
To make World Book Day even more special the children will be asked to come into school on Thursday 7th March dressed as a character from their favourite book; this should be great fun! As Year 3 are swimming on Thursday, they will celebrate world book day on Friday 8th March and will dress up then.
‘We are Writers’
We are publishing our own book. The children's writing has been chosen to include in our own paperback. Don’t forget to order your copy at the Book Fair. You can use your WBD £1 tokens to receive a discounted price.
