We are delighted that we can now finally announce that Jaydan in Year 5 came third place in a national competition, winning £5000 for school and £350 for herself!
The Plastic Investigators project and competition, in association with Asda, We are Futures and the National Schools Partnership, enabled children to learn about the effects of plastic pollution on the environment and what we can do to tackle this issue.
Every child in school designed a poster to persuade people to reduce, re-use or recycle their plastic waste and we had some brilliant entries. Mrs Johnson posted them all to the National Schools Partnership in London during the summer holidays with her fingers crossed!
We were delighted, to say the least, when we found out that Jaydan’s poster had won third place - out of over 6000 entries! The whole school were treated to a special prize-giving ceremony, where representatives from Asda presented Jaydan with a £350 gift card and Mrs Johnson with a £5000 cheque, which will be spent on a sustainable living project in school.
Well done to everyone for putting so much effort into your posters and congratulations to Jaydan for your winning design!
