We hope everyone is safe and well, staying at home and following all guidance and rules set by the Government and NHS.
After some initial technical problems on our online learning platforms at the beginning of the week, TTRS, SumDog and Purple Mash have been working hard to increase their connectivity and it is definitely improving! It is fantastic to see how well the children have been doing with these aspects of learning – we can check this from ‘our end’! Keep up the good work!
Your child may have told you that they can keep in touch with us, and each other, through Purple Mash’s secure email system. This is working well, with all teachers responding to children’s questions about their work and setting more individual challenges. Please encourage your child to do this. Every teacher is able to give feedback on any pieces of work they are sent by children.
If you do not have access to a computer, tablet or smart phone, please do get in touch with us to let us know. We can send out printed work, exercise books, etc. so your child can continue their learning at home.
Should you be ‘stuck’ for any ideas for home learning, the most important thing you can do with your child is READ. This can be: the book/s they have taken home or any they already have at home, any extracts in their packs, comics, children’s magazines/newspapers, or the digital books on Purple Mash. If you need any more reading material, please get in touch with us. We read with the children every day at school and it is essential that this is continued at home during this period of school closures.
We have set up a school Twitter account to communicate with you more effectively and signpost any useful resources/activities. You can follow us @broadwayjuniors from the Twitter app. We are working on developing year group accounts too, in order to provide more specific work for your child.
Please see the following links if you would like more information on supporting your child at home, as well as looking after your wellbeing and that of your loved ones during this difficult time.
