It has been lovely talking to lots of you this week and hearing about how you and your child are doing. We are missing our Broadway children very much!
Please remember that our main priority, as your child will know, is that you are all happy, healthy and safe. This is even more important at this challenging time.
Please do not put pressure on yourself or your child to complete homework packs or online learning tasks. As we have already stressed, the activities are there if you need them. They are simply a recap of previous lessons, rather than something new. We do not expect you to teach your child and we understand how difficult it will be to have your children in the house all day, whilst some of you are trying to work from home as well. Thank you for everything you are trying to support your child with.
The ‘Broadway Wish List’ we shared this week gives a range of ideas for things you can do as a mam, dad, nana, grandad, aunty or uncle - and not a teacher. We have been delighted to hear of children learning how to cook, helping around the house, getting their families to join in with some exercise, reading out loud to you, playing board games, counting money - we could go on! All the wonderful things that you did together are what will stay in your child’s memory, as they look back on this period of time that will potentially be talked about forever
If your child does love to write lots, complete worksheets, do comprehensions and solve maths problems, these are also available for you in the homework packs, or on our online programs (Purple Mash, SumDog, TTRS, Reading Plus and Accelerated Reader). Teachers are giving regular feedback to children on Purple Mash and you can contact us if you require any further work or support.
Free School Meals
The packed lunch deliveries and collections are now finished. After the Easter holiday, the school meals vouchers will be activated and we have already contacted you about this if you qualify. Please ensure we have your email address if you are expecting to receive the vouchers.
Contact during the Easter Holidays
Our phone line will be available every weekday 8:30am-3:30pm over the next two weeks, with the exception of Good Friday and Easter Monday. We will continue to keep in touch with you via text and our website. Please also follow us on Twitter @broadwayjuniors for general messages, links to good websites and wellbeing advice. If you have recently moved house or changed telephone number, please let us know so we can update our details for you.
As always, you are welcome to contact us about anything. We are here to help you through this as best as we can.
Please stay at home, stay safe and take care.
