World Book Day Thursday 2nd March 2023

We are celebrating World Book Day (Thursday 2nd March) within school. As part of World Book Day every primary school aged child will receive a book token. These are redeemable in all major bookstores. The children can exchange their token for a special World Book Day book. Just look out for the special stickers.

Book Fair

Your child will receive their special book token from school, please put it to good use! School will be holding a book fair for your children to buy some exciting new books from Monday 6th March. You will be sure to find many books that are suited to your child. Book fair will be open from 3.00pm to 3.30pm each afternoon.

I am sure you will agree that reading is of great importance and we really do appreciate all of your support. In return for your book purchases, school will receive free books for your children to use. Every book you buy earns commission for your school. We look forward to seeing you there. Don’t forget you can use your special World Book Day Token to redeem £1 off any book at our Book Fair.

Dress as your favourite character.

To make World Book Day even more special the children may, if they would like, come into school on Thursday 2nd March dressed as a character from their favourite book; this should be great fun! Could all children please bring in their favourite book to share during the day.

Reading Competition

We will also be running a reading competition over the two weeks leading up to Book Fair. The children simply need to record when and what they have read and return this to school to be in with a chance of winning a special prize. Look out for our ‘I am a reader’ – Reading Competition Form which the children will bring home over half term.
